What comes to mind when you think of vegan food? Do you think of hippy-dippy restaurants catering to raw vegan purists or minimalist-chic cafes serving an elite clientele? Chances are, the word “fun” doesn’t immediately come to mind. Enter Slutty Vegan. This Atlanta-based vegan burger joint is one of the city’s hottest restaurants, vegan or otherwise. All of the burgers are made with Impossible meat alternative and carry hilarious (and somewhat scandalous) names like Sloppy Toppy, Ménage à Trois and One Night Stand.
As soon as you pull up to Slutty Vegan, you’ll tap into a fun, eclectic vibe which goes beyond just food. Stand in the long line snaking out the door of the restaurant and chat up your line neighbors. When you finally approach the door, you will be met with bumpin’ music (there is even security outside, giving it an even more club-like feel). Order your food and don’t forget to add the vegan blackberry mayonnaise (strange but delicious, trust me). Next door, pick up merch, like their “Black. Educated. Vegan.” t-shirt. Fun fact: Slutty Vegan is black-owned and female-owned (woo hoo!).
Sometimes, even the cleanest eaters crave junkfood, and Slutty Vegan is here to satisfy that craving. A great experience. I can’t wait for it to expand beyond Atlanta!
